Crismon Elementary Math and Science Night
Register to Participate
All young scientists wishing to display a project at this event must register in advance through this online form. We strongly encourage early registration in order to reserve your space. Final registration deadline is November 7.
Booth Approval
All student booth submissions will have to be reviewed and approved by their classroom teacher. Be sure to register on the website AND turn in a green form to your teacher. (Green forms are availiable from classroom teachers or the office.)
Classroom and Family Involvement
Project ideas can come from the teachers, students or parents. Many classrooms will host a table, which students may choose to help facilitate during the evening. The goal of the event is to expose our Crismon Community to various aspects of science and math. These projects should be driven by students when possible. Parents should use their best judgment in deciding when to get involved, such as when there is a potential safety issue. Parents will need to provide some guidance. Parents with a passion for math or science are invited to host an educational or hands-on booth!
Working with someone else.
You may work with a parent or choose a partner who is also a student at Crismon Elementary, for example, a classmate or a sibling. You and/or your team will provide everything that is needed at your booth.
Need help choosing a topic?
When it comes to choosing a topic, the sky is the limit! What have you wondered about? The best topics come from your own genuine curiosity about how something works, or why something is the way that it is. But if you have trouble thinking of something on your own, the internet is full of resources to help you choose a topic.
Science Snacks
Bring a few dollars to purchase science-driven snacks. How DOES corn become popcorn? What makes Zots fizz? Can Liquid Nitrogen and Cream make a sweet science experiment?? Is rock candy made of rocks? Stop by the concession area to explore science!
Certificate of Participation
Our Math and Science Night is non-competitive. Our goal is simply to encourage scientific exploration/discovery, and promote a lifelong passion for math and science. Each participant will each receive a certificate.
Volunteers needed!
A big community event like the Math and Science Night wouldn't be possible without the help of numerous volunteers. We have all kinds of different jobs to be done, so if think you can spare an hour or two on the day of the event, we would love your help. Please contact Janece Larson at PTA.crismon@gmail.com and sign up now!
